Starwood Mug

Opened in 1973, The Starwood was a raucous LA club where (among countless others) Mötley Crüe played their first concert, Van Halen was discovered and the Germs played their infamous last show. The owner was a dangerous drug kingpin who was behind the “Wonderland” murders, and there was a high level of low-down-dirty sex, drugs and violence at the club — the dark underbelly seething below LA’s bright lights, pounding music and sweaty revelers.
