Opened in 1921 inside the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, Cocoanut Grove was a nightclub whose name became synonymous with glamour. It featured lavish exotic décor — Moorish arches, tropical murals with running waterfalls, Chinese lanterns strung between palm trees, and a ceiling illuminated in stars. Frequented by A-list celebrities for decades, it hosted six Oscar ceremonies and a multitudes of lavish soirees.
