Open 24/365, Ships Coffee Shops, with their boomerang-shaped roofs and futuristic neon signs, were impossible to miss. Inside, the small chain dished out American favorites. Toasters were placed on every table and on the counters, and preparing your own toast was the main event. Many folks spent countless late nights pushing rye bread into their clunky appliances. Ships also arguably had the best freshly squeezed OJ, chicken pot pie, and mashed potatoes in the city.
