Founded in 1971, The Flip Side Records was a chain of 25 stores in the Midwest, half of them in Chicago. But it was more than just a record store — it hosted many in-store appearances, acted as a Ticketron outlet for local concerts, and was also involved in one of Chicago’s largest concert promotion agencies, presenting live concerts at major venues through the mid-80s.
