Opened in 1967 in Detroit, Chin Tiki was an over-the-top tiki-themed supper club with towering tiki statues, waterfalls, a bamboo bridge, imitation rock walls and a spacious nightclub with rattan-covered stage. Chin Tiki had an authentic Polynesian floor show complete with Hawaiian dancers and fire-breathers, and was said to be frequented by such celebrities as Muhammad Ali, Barbra Streisand and Joe DiMaggio.
