Opened in 1927, Chain of Rocks Park was an amusement park located in St. Louis. Situated on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, the park boasted one of the most unique rides ever seen, an oblong ferris wheel named the Swooper, which made riders feel like they might fall into the Mississippi river if one of the Swooper’s seats gave away. Fortunately they never did.
