Opened in 1962 on Coney Island in Brooklyn, Astroland was a “space-age” amusement park featuring one of the oldest functional roller coasters in America, the Cyclone (built in 1927). Astroland was NYC’s largest amusement park and featured other rides such as the Water Flume, Dante’s Inferno and Astrotower…but let’s face it, it was really all about the The Cyclone.
