In 1893 (yes, you read that correctly), a Sicilian immigrant named Angelo Spano opened the doors to his restaurant, Spano’s. Initially serving imported meats and cheeses, it soon grew to a full menu and was as well known for its food as it was for Angelo himself. With his ready wit, twinkle in his eye and never-failing interest in his customers, Mr. Spano grew to love and be loved by the people of Columbus.
